E3 sleep technology

Relaxation

Energisation
WE HAVE REINVENTED THE MATTRESS Mattresses for better sleep. For you. For your life.

Relaxation, recuperation, energisation: with our modular mattresses designed to last a lifetime, you can finally exploit the full potential of sleep. Our E3 sleep technology makes the difference. An investment that is well worth it.

Modular Mattresses:
The future of perfect sleep

SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses consist of a modular 3-layer system with variable functional layers that you will enjoy all your life.

Our innovative layer system allows you to adjust your mattress to your sleeping needs again and again. And our quality standards start where our competitors stop. High-quality materials, processed by hand, guarantee a really long life. If necessary, you can easily replace individual layers instead of always having to buy a new mattress.

We put an end to the myth of "one-size-fits-all mattresses".

There is no such thing. We not only differ in our body build; we also have very individual lying needs. At the same time, our flexible system rids you of the agony of choice: hard mattress or soft mattress, cold foam or latex – our modular mattresses combine everything in one product. So you're always lying the right way. In the future, you’ll decide how well you sleep, not your mattress. You simply adjust it.

What lying sensation do you want
from your mattress?

Whatever “perfect sleep” means to you, your new mattress will create the best conditions for it.

SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses stand for the highest level of sleeping comfort. What no other mattress takes into account is the fact that everyone understands comfort differently. Until now, the only alternatives were to rely on advertising promises about sleep quality or to test the mattress and return it at great expense if you didn't like it. With our modular mattresses, you finally have the possibility of creating the optimal lying sensation for yourself. They are made up of several non-bonded individual layers that you can arrange as you wish to create your personal favourite mattress. So there is no such thing as too hard or too soft. You can simply experiment on your own to find your perfect sleep or be inspired by our most popular mattresses:

Do you often suffer from back problems or are you tense in the shoulder and neck area? Then you should do something for your back health with a suitable mattress. Our Stretch layer with its unique lamellar structure produces a gentle stretching of your spine to actively relieve discomfort, giving you an effectively healthy lying sensation for your back. The higher this layer is in the mattress, the greater the regenerative effect for your back. If you are looking for a mattress to help with back pain, you will love this layer.

Do you feel rusty in the morning and need to stretch? Does your body need time to get going? Then you'll adore the revitalising sensation this mattress gives. You need a mattress that makes your body move more during the night. Our Latex layer made of high-quality natural rubber supports you in this. It has a particularly elastic bounce. It cushions you lightly with every movement and thus promotes natural movements while you sleep.

Do you love cosy softness and want to feel gently supported by your mattress? Then you need a mattress that offers you the lying sensation you get from the best box spring bed. On our Softness layer, you sleep as if you’re on clouds. The down layer with specially developed foam beads is cuddly soft and, thanks to the foam content, always remains beautifully voluminous and cosily fluffy.

Do you move around a lot at night and sometimes even wake up because of your active sleeping behaviour – with the result that you don't feel rested despite sleeping? Then you need a soothing sleep experience from a mattress that reduces your activity during the night. Our memory layer reacts to changes in position with a slight delay. It holds you in place, as it were, and gently slows your body down. At the same time, the viscoelastic memory foam adapts exactly to your body shape. This makes it incredibly comfortable for you to rest.

Do you usually sleep on your side and don't know where to put your arms? Do you sometimes wake up feeling tense or numb? Then a mattress that provides extra cushioning to your shoulders and hips will help you. Our 5-zone layer made of three highly elastic cold foams does just that. The balancing feeling of lying on the 5-zone layer reduces tension and poor circulation and keeps you comfortably in your favourite position.

Do you like to sleep on very firm mattresses, or do you want a particularly firm mattress because of a high body weight? With the appropriate arrangement of our layers, you can of course also create a harder lying surface. And for a harder lying sensation or for even more comfort and firmness for overweight people, we can gladly increase, on request, the so-called compression hardness of individual layers (not to be confused with the density) thanks to our customised production.

Unique functional layers:
Developed for your lying needs

Mattress development to perfection: each layer fulfils a special function to meet your requirements.

Instead of a simple mattress core or tightly glued layers without significant added value, our health-orientated sleep technology is based on well-designed functional layers. Each layer is designed to take full advantage of a particular material and achieve a specific effect, which you can obtain by arranging it within the mattress.

Enjoy unparalleled flexibility when it comes to creating the mattress that will really impress you.

Developed in close cooperation with sleep experts, physiotherapists and orthopaedists. You currently have a choice of five different effective functional layers, made of the highest quality materials that have been proven to optimise sleep quality. Our mattress models each consist of three layers and differ in the number of functional layers they contain. In addition to the functional layers, we therefore also offer a high-quality base layer with less specialised comfort properties.

Adjust your mattress again and again:
It’s so easy to do

Would you like to lie a little softer or a little harder? Then go ahead – with SEVEN SUNDAYS, that's no problem.

You don't have to decide before you buy, or always fall asleep with the same feeling after making the purchase. If you like, you can reconfigure your mattress every day to suit your current state of health. After physical exertion, you can use the Stretch layer for active regeneration during sleep. At the weekend, you can make yourself really comfortable on the Memory layer. The adjustment can be done in just a few steps, which makes the mattress really suitable for everyday use. You can see how it works in practice in the following video:

Better mattress = Better sleep

People spend a third of their lives asleep. But resting is much more than going into energy-saving mode.

Body and mind recover during sleep. Your metabolism regulates itself. Your immune system is strengthened. Many detoxification and wound healing processes take place primarily while you are asleep. The endocrine system secretes growth hormones. The brain processes the experiences of the day and anchors information in the long-term memory. After a restful night's sleep, you have more energy, vigour and focus the next morning. Sleep makes you beautiful, sleep makes you smart and is perhaps the best medicine. No wonder sleep health should be the most important criterion when choosing a mattress.

Your mattress has a significant influence on the quality of your sleep – and therefore also on your regeneration during the night.

The more comfortable you are on your mattress, the more comfortable you feel in your bed and the better you can rest and recharge your batteries. And -especially important for many people – with the right mattress, you can positively influence your back health, so that you don't wake up tense, but relaxed. That's why we have redefined the sleeping comfort of our mattresses based on the latest scientific findings from sleep research and orthopaedics.

Orthopaedic mattresses:
What you should know

Orthopaedic mattresses are very much in vogue. They promise relief from back pain or tension as well as improved lying comfort, for example in the case of a slipped disc.

But labels like "orthopaedic" or "medical mattress" are not protected terms and do not give precise information about the orthopaedic and health-promoting qualities to help with pain, slipped disc problems or other complaints of the support and locomotor system, such as scoliosis or pelvic misalignment. And getting the most out of possible orthopaedic benefits such as support, relief or freedom from pressure is very dependent on your personal requirements. Not every mattress helps all the time. With SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses, on the other hand, you can always adapt the orthopaedic properties of the mattress to your current situation in the best possible way – depending on what your body currently needs in order to rest comfortably and in an ergonomically correct position.

Our mattresses combine the best features of comfort mattresses and health mattresses.

The stretch layer, for example, exerts a slight traction on your spine. Your resting body weight is "redirected" towards your head and feet by the lamellar structure: the pressure reduction achieved means that stressed tissue recovers and is ready to absorb nutrients and fluids again. This helps the intervertebral discs to fill up again during the night like a sponge and return to their original shape. With the Memory layer and its excellent point elasticity, the spine and joints can be relieved. It is very popular with pain sufferers, for example. Our mattresses really do live up to the designation "orthopaedic" for their innovative properties, and they are ideal for all the major health problems that can be improved by resting on a suitable mattress:

Everyone knows what back pain is like. A hard or firm mattress is often recommended as a way to combat back pain in order to mobilise the body. But a mattress that is too hard encourages too much movement during the night – which exhausts the body. A mattress that is too soft, on the other hand, causes the spine to bend, which increases or even triggers the pain. You can configure our mattresses in such a way that they noticeably suit your back. Your back will thank you for it.
Sleep should play an important role in relieving the spine and supporting the health of the intervertebral discs. But this can only be achieved with the right mattress, or the intervertebral discs may be compressed unevenly. Our Stretch layer gently pulls the vertebrae apart and promotes natural repositioning. Our mattresses are also of great benefit for regeneration after a slipped disc.
The shoulders and neck are the most sensitive areas of our body. Side sleepers twist their shoulder, while stomach sleepers primarily twist their neck unnaturally. If you have shoulder/neck problems, we recommend using our orthopaedically designed neck pillow with variable height. At the same time, the mattress must ensure that your shoulders sink in deeply enough. You can control this by positioning our 5-zone layer.
Depending on the type of complaints in the hip and pelvic area, different layers of our mattresses can be helpful. In the side position, the hip joint has to bear a large part of the entire body weight. To relieve the pressure, the 5-zone layer with a soft hip zone allows it to sink in, which is also beneficial in cases of inflammatory pain in the hip. In the case of pelvic misalignment, the Stretch layer can do a very good job
Fasciae often play a role in muscle pain and muscular tension. Fasciae consist of connective tissue and surround the muscles. They provide stability and lose elasticity through ageing, undue stress or changes in metabolism. To keep them healthy, we need sufficient movement. Our Latex layer promotes movement during the night, thus causing a kind of fascia training during sleep. For pressure-sensitive muscle areas, the Memory layer can also be very pleasant.
If you sleep on an unsuitable mattress, you will certainly know the feeling of numb arms or limbs which have “fallen asleep”. If the shoulder or pelvis are positioned on too hard a surface, this restricts the blood supply to the extremities. It is crucial for all types of sleepers that the mattress absorbs pressure at certain points. In the case of circulatory problems, our Memory layer is particularly useful for relieving pressure on sensitive parts of the body and supporting blood circulation.

Mattresses for every sleeping position

Are you looking for a special mattress for side sleepers, back sleepers or stomach sleepers?

Many mattress guides recommend choosing mattresses based on your preferred sleeping position – side, back or stomach. After all, each position places its own demands on a mattress. However, many people cannot precisely define their sleeping behaviour. Moreover, such a classification according to sleeper types does not take into account the fact that all people assume different sleeping positions while asleep by regularly turning during the night.

Imagine your mattress supporting you ideally in every position.

Movements and rotations during sleep keep the spine and especially the intervertebral discs, fasciae, muscles, ligaments and tendons soft and supple. If you are, for example, a supposed side sleeper, you can in fact end up lying uncomfortably on a special side sleeper mattress, regardless of the material or construction. SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses solve this problem because, especially with the Classic mattress, you can design your own sleeping experience, simply by arranging the layers. Simply try out for yourself which arrangement gives you the feeling of lying in an ideal position, i.e. falling asleep comfortably and waking up full of energy. We will also be happy to advise you personally before you buy. Regarding your sleeping position, you should definitely consider the following:

The ideal side sleeper mattress: About 2/3 of all people are side sleepers. With mattresses for side sleepers, point elasticity is of great importance – especially in the area of the shoulders and hips. The shoulders must be able to sink much deeper into the mattress in the side position in order to avoid bending and the resulting tension and numbness in the arms and upper back. The hips must be able to sink in slightly, but only to the extent that the lower vertebrae do not bend unnaturally. Thanks to its modularity, you can adjust the firmness of your mattress to suit your body type. For a high level of comfort in the hip area, side sleepers like to choose the 5-zone layer as the top layer. The higher it is, the more the shoulders and pelvis can sink in.
The ideal mattress for back sleepers: A special requirement of mattresses for back sleepers is that the heels and lower calves sink into the mattress, as this relieves the knees and cruciate ligaments in the supine position. The shoulder area, on the other hand, must not be too soft so that the upper back area around the spine does not sink in too much and the outer shoulder area is not pressed upwards. The hips must be able to sink in, but only so far that the pelvis does not sink in too deeply and the arch of the lumbar spine is supported in its natural shape. Experience has shown that the 5-zone layer as the top layer is not to be recommended for back sleepers. If you prefer a soft sleeping surface, choose the Memory or Latex layer as the top layer, or the Stretch layer if you need more firmness.
The ideal mattress for stomach sleepers: The stomach position is the most unfavourable sleeping position from an orthopaedic point of view, as it has a long-term negative effect on the cervical vertebrae and neck muscles. The head is always positioned on its side during sleep, which severely over-rotates the neck muscles and the cervical spine. This increases the risk of waking up in the morning with a stiff or sore neck. At the same time, mattresses that are too soft can cause the lower part of the spine to bend. Mattresses for stomach sleepers should be evenly firm from the head area to the feet. A firmer configuration with the Stretch layer as the top layer is recommended here. To help the body move a little more while you sleep, choose the Latex layer as the top layer, with the Stretch layer underneath.
The ideal active sleeper mattress: Active sleepers change their lying position very often while asleep, so often that the body does not come to rest, and active sleepers have the feeling of waking up each time they turn. For the spine and the entire musculoskeletal system, frequent sleep movements are quite healthy and desirable. However, as soon as the quality of sleep suffers because deep sleep phases are interrupted or not reached at all, the mattress must be made softer. As a mattress for active sleepers, you can use the Memory layer as the top layer, for example, because its inert elasticity gently absorbs movements and accommodates the body as a whole. This generally calms your sleep, as your body is stabilised and the changes in sleeping positions are reduced to a healthy average.

Mattresses for a
perfect sleeping climate

In addition to lying comfort, the very quality of the mattress also influences the sleeping climate. A decisive factor of climate regulation is proper air circulation.

Because the individual layers are not bonded together, SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses guarantee an ideal sleeping climate: at a depth of approx. 5-7 cm, there is always an air layer which carries warm and moist air away to the side. Your natural movement on the mattress creates a multi-layered "suction effect". This presses moist, warm air to the sides, draws cool air into the air channel and thus ensures a constant exchange of cold and warmth. Simply heavenly.

With their unique ventilation properties, our mattresses are also ideal for people who sweat a lot during their sleep.

In addition, all our fabrics are breathable. The cold foams used have open, large pores because they are broken with a roller after foaming. This ensures first-class breathability. The Memory and Latex layers are vertically punctured to ensure effective heat circulation. And the mattress base is made of a 3D mesh that also allows air exchange, so it's neither too cold, nor too hot, nor too damp. You’ll enjoy a dreamlike sleeping climate in every season.

Hygienic mattresses: ideal for allergy sufferers

SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses are unbeatable in terms of hygiene and cleaning and are therefore also ideal as mattresses for allergy sufferers. All fabrics are washable at 60° and can even be tumble dried.

The quilted, breathable mattress cover is easily removable. The upper part can be removed in a few easy steps for cleaning and then reattached to the mattress. Unique: Because the layers are not bonded together, the mattress can also be vacuumed "inside" between the layers. In addition, it wicks away moisture very well, which ensures enhanced cleanliness and is an enormous hygiene benefit, not only for allergy sufferers.

Our mattresses are like an anti-mite fortress with many barriers

The mattress cover is made of polyester fibres which are thinner than silk. This makes it more difficult for the mites to settle and multiply. There is a fleece layer between the mattress cover and the layers as an additional barrier. The foam layers are surrounded by a protective covering made of synthetic fibre. In the layers made of natural rubber (Latex layer) and organic viscose (Memory layer), mites can also find no foothold or niches to multiply due to the sealed surface.

Mattresses for all bed types

SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses are suitable for any bed, whether it be a wooden bed, a four-poster bed or a box spring bed

You don't need a luxury bed or an expensive slatted frame to enjoy the highest lying comfort. Even on Euro pallets, all the positive properties of our mattresses would remain unaltered. You can even place them directly on the floor - without having to worry about the possible growth of mould, as the air can circulate ideally between the layers.

Premium mattresses:
handmade, Swiss made

Not a luxury, but extremely luxurious. As a premium mattress manufacturer, we produce exclusive quality mattresses that meet the highest standards.

Unlike other mattress manufacturers who work with a high degree of standardisation and automation, we create each SEVEN SUNDAYS mattress through highly-demanding precision manual work with great attention to detail in our own factory near Basel. All layers are made to measure by hand. The layer covers are fitted onto the layers by hand and sewn together with zips. The mattress cover is also meticulously sewn by hand on the inside – exactly like on the outside. All threads are finished off by hand. And of course, there is a final check to ensure that your personal mattress is truly "premium". If you want, you can even watch your SEVEN SUNDAYS mattress being made

At SEVEN SUNDAYS, we place great emphasis on craftsmanship, quality and durability.

As we manufacture exclusively in our Swiss mattress factory, the Swiss Trade Association has awarded us the Swiss Made label. This means that our mattresses and pillows can bear the Swiss crossbow, a symbol for confidence-building values such as quality and reliability. Simply Swiss made.

Best materials for
top quality mattresses

Every product is only as good as its components. In order to achieve our goal of supplying the best mattress, we rely on extremely high-grade materials, all of which are geared towards sleep quality, hygiene and durability.

Thanks to over 40 years of family experience, we maintain personal contacts with the best foam manufacturers in Europe. As we are independent, we are not reliant on any manufacturer and can therefore always purchase the best materials. The most decisive quality factor for mattresses is the density. For this reason, we only use cold foam with the highest density, so that your mattress does not sag after only 100 days due to the quality of the material.

Cold foam

Cold foam is the most popular mattress material because of its many benefits – from adapting to the body through the temperature and moisture balance to hygiene. However, there are big differences in the foam quality, which mainly depends on the density. The higher the density, the more stable and durable a mattress is. We exclusively use at least 55 kg per cubic metre, which is an absolute record in the mattress sector.

Natural rubber

We only use chemical-free natural rubber for our Latex layer. The special Talalay latex is produced in a complex foaming process. Unlike the usual Dunlop process, there are two additional production steps in Talalay latex production: shock freezing and gelling. This gives the material a unique texture for greater elasticity and suppleness. With a density of 85 kg per cubic metre, our latex is top quality.

Viscose

Viscoelastic foams have a memory effect, which means that the mattress adapts perfectly to body contours through body weight and body heat. Our organic Visco foam has a density of 55 kg per cubic metre and therefore retains its thermoelastic properties with a pressure-relieving effect, even after years of use. For a gently refreshing effect and a unique feel, organic Aloe vera oil is added during the manufacturing process.

Down

We use high-quality, odourless down for our Softness layer. Compared to conventional feathers, down from the lower feathers is particularly soft, supple and flexible. Our down does not come from live plucking. To prevent sticking and the typical "material displacement", we add foam beads. This ingenious combination reliably wicks away moisture and ensures a comfortable sleeping temperature.

Mattress Covers

Even our mattress covers are optimised for sleeping climate and durability with three components: a blend of cotton, especially breathable polyester to reduce pilling and elastane for higher point elasticity; high-quality and fluffy padding to increase breathability; and fleece with a honeycomb structure to stabilise and promote air circulation. Instead of the conventional cross-quilting, we use an advantageous “jumping” quilting method.

Zips

With cheap mattresses, the nylon threads of the zips eventually tear – usually during washing. The zips we use are also used by the Swiss Army. They have a high degree of usability of over one million times. The zip teeth are counted and matched to each other, allowing the mattress cover to be removable and washable without the zip warping over time.

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100

The OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 is probably the best-known testing and certification system for testing textiles for harmful substances. For the certificate to be issued, all materials in a product, including the non-textile components, must meet the required conditions, test criteria and limit values required by the standard. In addition, operational quality assurance is required. Our mattresses have passed the harmful substances test for Product Class I (articles for babies and small children), for which particularly strict requirements must be met.

Certified as an ergonomic product

Certified as an ergonomic product

The Institute for Health and Ergonomics e. V. (IGR) has put SEVEN SUNDAYS mattresses through their paces - neutrally and independently – and officially certified them as ergonomic products. We received special praise for our Stretch layer and its excellent suitability for regenerating the back. The IGR certificate is an excellent seal of quality in the health sector: the rigorous mattress test consists of a product test according to DIN standards and an extensive practical test.

Environmentally friendly mattresses:
Resource-saving and recyclable

On average, every German uses at least 7 mattresses in a lifetime. No wonder, because especially inexpensive mattresses have a very limited lifespan due to the material quality.

Or the lying sensation is so unsatisfactory that you buy a new mattress prematurely. The old mattress then ends up in landfill. With SEVEN SUNDAYS, the mattress is transformed from a disposable product into one that will last for a lifetime. With good care, the mattress will last for up to 20 years. And, if a layer loses its stability or a new mattress cover is needed, you simply buy the individual part again instead of throwing away the entire mattress. A new layer not only costs a fraction of the price of a new mattress, you’ll only be creating 10-20% waste instead of 100%. Renewing instead of throwing away – that's what we call environmentally aware. Because we want to offer mattresses that are as environmentally friendly as possible.

Our pioneering low-emission mattresses are particularly resource-saving because the components can be recycled much more effectively than mattresses in which different materials are bonded together.

Due to the bonding, the materials cannot usually be recycled and are mostly incinerated. Since we take our responsibility for the environment very seriously, proper disposal or recycling is very important to us. By the way, this also applies to your old mattress. Mattresses do not belong in the household waste. If you decide on a SEVEN SUNDAYS mattress, our service partners will carry it to your bed if you wish, assemble it together with you and take all the packaging materials and your old mattress away with them. We will then take care of the rest. And whenever you replace a layer, we always offer you a free recycling return, which you can use to simply send back worn-out mattress parts free of charge.

Everything is possible:
From XXL mattresses to special sizes

From XXL mattresses to mattresses in special sizes, we are happy to fulfil our customers' wishes.

Since we manufacture the mattresses individually, we can also implement special custom designs, e.g. a mattress made to measure in a special size, i.e. mattresses with extra length or special measurements for caravans and the like.

Our mattresses for overweight people with optimised high body weight lying properties are very much in demand.

Our standard mattresses can be used without any restrictions by people weighing up to 120 kg. For people who are heavier, we recommend the special custom design of individual layers using foams with a particularly high compression hardness.

Mattress experiences:
This is how our customers rate us

At SEVEN SUNDAYS, buying the wrong mattress is virtually impossible, because our modular mattresses offer countless possibilities to arrange the mattress according to your preferences and to create a new lying experience if you wish.

This is also the opinion of our satisfied customers, and we are happy to let them have their say here with some testimonials:

"Since I switched to the Seven Sundays innovative sleep systems, I’ve been starting my days in top shape almost 1.5 hours earlier, and I can also completely manage without my afternoon nap."

"Bobsleigh is an extremely physically demanding sport. We spend between five and seven hours a day on the bobsleigh track or in the gym, moving tons of weight. So it's no wonder that intervertebral discs and joints eventually make themselves felt. For me, it's essential to have a perfect bed during the short rest phases in training and competition. Thanks to Seven Sundays, I now have this challenge under control. On my new mattress, I sleep more intensively and use the time much more efficiently. Otherwise, a full recovery in a few hours would probably only be possible with the constant intervention of our medical team."

Johannes Lochner, World and European four-man bobsleigh champion

"My job as the US national coach is really exciting, but often requires working late into the night."

"In addition, I spend a lot of time on the plane. Without perfect regeneration in the rest phases, the limits of my resistance to stress would quickly be reached and I’d need to recharge my batteries. With the sleep systems from Seven Sundays, I can now easily get my energy back."

Michael Greis, US biathlon national coach, biathlon world champion and three-time Olympic champion

"I am a really totally satisfied customer."

"After only one week of sleeping on the Seven Sundays sleep system (lamellae), my severe back pain improved rapidly and I have had a very good night's sleep ever since. The Seven Sundays pillow also creates a wonderful lying sensation and I would not want to do without it again. I would also like to make special mention of the smooth delivery and great assembly service of the sleep system. All round, I would recommend Seven Sundays and their sleep system without reservation and with great pleasure!!!!"
